Hi Steve,
Thanks for that response. Just saw it. I'm sticking with it!
Steve, would you consider writing a piece about protecting your copyright. I'm currently embroiled in an issue, largely because of my naievete(sp?) in tossing out stuff without signing agreements first. I'm sure there are other readers too who couldn't be bothered with such things, and live to regret it. If you've already written something on it, could you direct me to the archieve, please? Cheers, Cheryl.

Cheryl, I don't know any writers who don't sometimes (often) question their writing abilities. It's natural. And most writers occasionally rue the day they decided to make it their profession. But unless they have too many of those days, they should stick with it, in my opinion. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Steve,
I just read your piece in Worldwide Freelance Writers on 'Do you like writing or do you like being a writer'. So connected with your views on that, that I had to write to say so.

Just wondering if while writing you also go through the phase--every time in my case--when you question your ability to write, and your wisdom in making it your career choice?

Also, the frustration of finding markets for my writing and promoting my self-published book seems to take away much of the joy of the writing process. Still, there's nothing that beats seeing my byline in print!

I'm so glad I came across that wonderful piece of yours.

All the best,
Cheryl Antao-Xavier

Thank you! My husband said much the same thing to me when I set out to complete a novel this year. He asked if I was going to fall in the pit of depression if it didn't "go anywhere" when I got done. Having just received the first rejection letter, I needed to be reminded that the reason I write is not so I can get published, the reason I write is because I love writing. Thanks, for a gentle reminder!
