April Ann, the whole world told me not to become a writer. I have been a full-time writer now for about 25 years, have a happy marriage, raised three wonderful children, live in a beautiful home.... I'm not bragging -- I just want you to know that with hard work and dedication (and a bit of aptitude for it) you can make your way in life as a writer and be happy you did. Follow your bliss!

I know it's hard to become a writer some writers get four hours of sleep they drink two cups of coffee or lots of tea. My Parents told me it isn't easy for me to be a writer they don't want me to be a writer at all they want me to work in an office which is better.
I want to write love stories and also children's books. Maybe I should start thinking about writing school at home or in public.

for it's writing I love. I am not a professional write and I keep a Moleskine journal which I split hafl way into a diary and half way in my journal. I only write for myself and to be "writer" you would need to have the intention to go public which I don't have.
I just love the feeling when I start a new page, see it filling and get my head empty at the same time.
I agree with Gary, it's the "doing" not the "being" that is important to me.

I absolutely love writing. I hate deadlines and demands on my writing, however, and one would think at 51, I would have managed to overcome the dread that seems to settle into every nook and cranny of my brain when they are present.

I feel like a junky with the thrill and deep satisfaction I get when the inspiration is there and I know I've put something worthwhile on paper. There is nothing like it.

I've never thought of myself as a writer.......at least not outloud. It is a moniker that I don't feel good enough to claim for my own right now. But, I keep trying. In the meantime, I will simply enjoy the process.

For me it's writing I love. I try to avoid the "being" thing as far as possible and focus on things I like "doing". "Being" can just be limiting. Maybe you can't "be" a writer for some reason, but if you love writing you can always find ways to do it, whatever your job title.

That is a beautiful post! I must say "yes" and "yes!" I love writing, the highs and the lows of it, the days when the words won't come and the days when they flow like magic. I love being a writer, sharing my words with anyone who will read them.

It's a blessing to be a writer!

This post just about brought tears to my eyes, Steve. Bravo!
